Teeth grinding, also known as ‘Bruxism’, occurs when a person grinds or clenches their teeth. Botulinum Toxin can be used as a relaxant to allow overworked muscles, such as those that play a part in teeth grinding, to relax – as most people clench or grind their teeth at night time, it can be almost impossible to stop grinding any other way. Once injected, it prevents the jaw muscle from contracting as strongly as it did before.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms and your assessment, we may advise that you attend a dentist to assess your occlusion or bite, and see whether you need to also use a splint to help reduce your symtoms.

This is a quick comfortable treatment with no downtime. Patients may return to their normal activities after treatment. Results will start to be seen within a week, with best results at about 1 month.

A review is advised with all first time treatments, and is offered as part of the treatment at 2-3 weeks.

Longevity of the treatment is up to 6 months, and may be longer in some individuals.

Overdeveloped masseter muscles (the muscle is involved in chewing) can result in a square jaw appearance. Other causes are teeth grinding and genetics.If your jaw is ‘square’ in appearance Botulinium Toxin injections may be used to help restore a more youthful, oval appearance on the right candidate. By relaxing the muscles involved, they debulk over time resulting in a more slimline profile.

This is a very effective treatment for those whose facial fullness is specifically due to overdeveloped bulky muscle. It is not effective for someone whose fuller face is due to adipose tissue or ‘jowls’.

This treatment is painless with minimum downtime. The results are start to be visible after 2 weeks with best effects from 3 months.

Small amounts of Botulinum toxin can be used to relax the muscles around mouth, resulting in more lip show and the appearance of a fuller lip in the right candidate.

Gummy smile happens when muscles lifting the lip are overactive causing you to show more teeth / gum when grinning or saying certain words. Botulinum toxin injections can be used to relax these muscles helping to lower the lip line when smiling.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that can affect many different body parts including the underarms (Axillary hyperhidrosis.) When a person has hyperhidrosis, they tend to perspire at abnormal rates. The sweating occurs usually without any external factors such as temperature or exercise.

The treatment (excessive sweating treatment) for axillary hyperhidrosis involves small injections directly into the underarm area. Although some 15-20 injections are typically given in each treatment, with proper anesthesia the treatment is virtually painless. These injections usually take a couple of days to start working, but once they do the sweating is dramatically reduced for up to 6 months.

You will start to notice a reduction in sweating within two weeks of treatment with the maximal result after about 4 weeks. Repeated treatments may be necessary for optimal results. It lasts for approximately 6 months.
